This assessment may take 30 minutes to 4 hours and is used to create a map of the heart’s activity. Electrophysiology is done using catheters (tubes or wires) which inserted into the heart chambers to sense electrical impulses in the heart. This test is performed in a sterile environment and under the supervision of a cardiologist and other medical personnel.
