Holter Monitoring

Holter monitoring is a type of electrocardiography monitoring primarily used for patients with fast heart rates, dizziness, and shortness of breath. A monitor with wired patches, which records heart rate and rhythm, is taken home and worn for 24 hours. A diary must also be kept to help correlate symptoms and heart activity. Upon the return of the patient to the office, a computerized scanner is used by a technician to read the recordings.
